In a shocking incident that has triggered widespread outrage across Assam, police have arrested three teenagers in connection with the alleged rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in the Aloichora area of Hailakandi district. The Assam Teenagers Murder and Sexual Assault Case is being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted under the Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime).According to police, the incident took place around 1:00 a.m. on August 1, 2026, under the jurisdiction of Katlicherra Police Station. The victim was reportedly alone at home after leaving a family gathering at a relative’s house nearby. Her family returned later that night and found her body inside the house with severe injuries.Police Investigation and ArrestsThe Assam police arrest operation began on Sunday, when five youths were detained for questioning. There were communications between the girl and the boys and we are investigating this further. However, we cannot come to any conclusion yet.
