Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) made three separate seizures on Monday. Officials stopped a passenger who was travelling to Dubai on flight AI-4309.A detailed check of his checked-in baggage found USD 15,500, worth around ₹14.8 lakh. The money was hidden in a fake bottom of the bag. The flight, 6E 1064, had arrived from Bangkok.During the search, officials found one package containing about 498 grams of ganja, described as hydroponic weed. The package was reportedly left behind by a passenger inside the aircraft.The seized substance was handed over for further action under the NDPS Act, 1985. The case is part of the ongoing contraband seized at Delhi airport investigation.523 Grams Gold Hidden in Cookware LidIn the third case, customs officers stopped a passenger at Terminal 1. The passenger was travelling from Riyadh to Mumbai on IndiGo flight 6E 315, with onward travel to Delhi.An X-ray check showed suspicious images in his checked-in luggage. Officials then carried out a detailed search.They found 15 cut pieces of 24-carat gold weighing 523 grams. The gold was hidden inside the solid core of a cookware lid.The gold seized at Delhi airport was taken into custody. The passenger was apprehended, and further investigation is underway.
