The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the National Sports Awards 2025, recognising outstanding Indian athletes, coaches and sports organisations. The awards honour performances and contributions across athletics, badminton, boxing, chess, hockey, kabaddi, shooting, para-sports, rowing and wrestling. The awards were selected by a committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (Retd.) Arun Kumar Mishra.Who Are the National Sports Awards 2025 Winners?A total of 17 sportspersons have been selected for the Arjuna Award 2025 for outstanding performance in sports and games. The winners include Tejaswin Shankar, Muhammed Ajmal V, Priyanka Goswami, Treesa Jolly, Pullela Gayatri Gopichand, Narender, Vidit Santosh Gujarathi, Divya Jitendra Deshmukh, Dhanush Srikanth, Lalremsiami, Rajkumar Pal, Surjeet, Pooja, Rudransh Khandelwal, Ekta Bhyan, Arvind Singh and Akhil Sheoran.Their disciplines cover athletics, badminton, boxing, chess, deaf shooting, hockey, kabaddi, para-shooting, para-athletics, rowing and shooting. In the regular category, Parveer Singh has been chosen for athletics, Chhote Lal Yadav for boxing and Neha Nandkumar Chavan for shooting.In the lifetime category, Dharmendra Singh Yadav has been selected for boxing, while Virender Kumar has been chosen for wrestling. The Dronacharya Award recognises coaches who have made a significant contribution to developing sporting talent and helping athletes achieve excellence.Which Organisation Received the Sports Promotion Award?The Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar 2025 has been awarded to the Army Paralympic Node, Pune. The organisation has been recognised for its contribution to the promotion and development of sports, particularly by supporting para-sporting talent.The selection process followed online applications from sportspersons, coaches and organisations. A large number of applications were reviewed by the Selection Committee before the final National Sports Awards winners list was announced.When and Who Will Present the National Sports Awards 2025?The National Sports Awards 2025 will be presented on the occasion of National Sports Day, August 29, 2025, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. President of India Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the selected athletes, coaches and organisation.The annual awards recognise sporting excellence and acknowledge the contribution of Indian athletes, coaches and organisations to the country's sports development.
