In a major step towards promoting women's education and empowerment, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved the Rani Lakshmibai Scooty Yojana. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under the scheme, around 50,000 meritorious undergraduate girl students across the state will receive free scooters in the first year.Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said the scheme aims to make commuting easier and safer for female students while encouraging more girls to pursue higher education.
