  6. The reason for adopting a pet
You must consider the reason you’re actually adopting a pet, whether is it just because your family has been asking for it or you need a fun and playful element at your home or because you have a love for animals and wish for a pet to be an addition to your family. It’s important to consider this because your pet shall be there with you for about 10-20 years.
  7. Whether the size of your house if appropriate for a pet
Depending on your house, you must research properly to make sure the size of your house is appropriate according to the pet you wish to adopt.
  8. Being responsible
Adopting a pet doesn’t only include your responsibilities towards him, it also includes your responsibilities towards the community.
  9. Harmony in your family
Bringing home a pet is like another addition to your family which is why you need to make sure that everyone agrees with this new addition.
  10. Responsibility of your pet in your absence
While you’re away at work or for a vacation, there should always be someone to take care of your pet. You must have such friends or relatives who would welcome your pet and take care of him in your absence.
  11. Is your house pet-friendly
Before adopting a pet you must make sure that your house is perfectly pet-friendly to avoid careless accidents and also so that your pet fits in perfectly in your lifestyle.
  12. Being careful
There are a number of things you need to be careful about with a pet around for example- keeping an eye on what he eats, preventing fleas and ticks, never leaving him in the car etc.

Adopting a pet is indeed a very noble deed as you're not only saving a precious being's life but also increasing its quality of life and considering the points above you will be able to perform your duties stupendously.
