Punjab announces free education, ₹1500/month for children orphaned due to COVID-19

Punjab government will provide ₹1,500 per month as social security pension, along with free education up to graduation, for all those children orphaned in the Covid pandemic, as well as families that have lost their breadwinning member..

Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has announced that children who have lost their parents to COVID-19 will be provided with free education till graduation in government institutions. He added that these children and the families who have lost their primary breadwinner will get ₹1,500 monthly and free ration. Girls will get ₹51,000 at the time of marriage under Aashirwad Scheme.
