We have always wondered how it would have been like to see Kareena Kapoor Khan play the lead in Kal Ho Na Ho or Ram Leela. Or say, Saif Ali Khan play Raj Malhotra in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Sometimes stars turn down top-notch scripts for inexplicable reasons. And Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is no exception. Even though she has many hit films to her credit, there are some blockbusters that she rejected for various reasons.

Several contemporary blockbusters, which had done wonders for their lead actors, were turned down by other Bollywood A-listers.

Here is a list the movies she did not associate with, leading to her colleagues starring in them:

1. Veer-Zaara (2004)

Aishwarya was offered Preity Zinta's epic role of Zaara in this musical blockbuster. She refused a Yash Chopra movie for unknown reasons.

2. Kuch Kuch Hota Hain (1998)

Aishwarya was offered Rani Mukerji's role in Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. But she had to turn it down because she didn’t have dates. We can't help but imagine where Rani's career would be today had Ash done KKHH instead.

3. Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007)

Vidya Balan killed it as Avni in this hit thriller. No one knows why Ash turned down such a stellar script!

4. Raja Hindustani (1996)

Clearly it was Karisma Kapoor's gain when Aishwarya rejected the role because she wanted to participate in the Miss World pageant. It went on to become the biggest hit of the year and a boon for Karisma.

5. Dostana (2008)

Priyanka Chopra got mighty lucky when Ash turned down the offer to star in this romantic comedy.

6. Munnabhai MBBS (2003)

Aishwarya turned down the role that was later played by Gracy Singh. Munnabhai not only became a blockbuster but also a cult movie that turned into a franchisee.

7. Namastey London (2007)

Katrina's role was first for Aish.

8. Chalte Chalte (2003)

Once again Aish rejected and Rani Mukherjee came to rescue.
